It can be played alone or with an unlimited number of players. The game consists of thirteen rounds, with the objective of the game being to score points by rolling five dice to make certain scoring combinations if possible. The dice can be rolled up to three times in a turn to try to complete various scoring categories. Scores are recorded on each player’s respective scoresheet. The winner is the player who scores the most points.

Jenga is a game of physical skill comprised of 54 wooden blocks stacked into a tower shape. Players take turns removing one block at a time from the tower. Each block removed is then placed on top of the tower, creating a progressively more unstable structure. The game ends when any portion of the tower collapses, caused by either the removal of a block or its new placement. See below for directions. This is one of 66 caches placed for the 2022 West Bend $1,000 Cache Ba$h, with this year’s theme being FUN AND GAMES. Parking is available in the northern half of the parking lot at N43 25.055 W88 08.710 (recommended for this cache and the other new cache in the north half of the park) or in the southern half of the parking lot at N43 24.950 W88 08.705 (closer to the two new caches in the south half of the park).

A letterbox hybrid, like this one, is both a geocache and a letterbox.
YOUR ADVENTURE AWAITS
1. Your adventure begins on the nicely paved Quaas Creek Trail, located about 400 feet from the parking lot. You can follow the path between the baseball diamonds to get there from the lot, unless you’re coming from another direction. The official beginning point for this geocache is at N43 25.030 W88 08.803, right down the first base line from one of the baseball diamonds. Nothing to find here, although there is a really cool stump at this location. We would have placed a geocache in it, but it’s pretty close to the trail and easily muggled. That’s the Milwaukee River you’re looking at to the west. The Creek comes later…

2. Walk south on the trail until you come to a fork about 425 feet away. Don’t go left – that will take you to the pickleball courts and the playground. Take a right at the fork and continue along going southwest.

3. You’ll come to another very obvious fork on the trail in about 463 feet, passing by some houses off in the distance on your left. Turn RIGHT (north/northwest) at this fork.

4. Go about another 240 feet N/NW and stop. You should now be standing in the center of a bridge. You are now also standing over Quaas Creek, from which the park gets its name. You’re also only 57 feet away from the cache!

In this cache, you will find an assortment of interesting cards made for discussion. Some are general questions to share, some are cards with a simple task, some are just pretty darn funny. The fun task cards may ask you to pass some of them off to other people and you can have fun with that too - so if you leave with a card, then just sign the "regular" log. These are fun, family friendly questions and tasks. If you post your card question and answer in your log or with a picture, you may even get a "great story" mark on your log on geocaching.com! Find me at the Saturday event and tell me about it, I will have something special for you....

You're looking for an ammo can size cache that is located just off the Riverfront Parkway Trail. There are several new caches placed along this trail. Closest parking is in the small lot to the east at N 43° 25.515 W 088° 09.703.
Duck Hunt is one of the original hunting video games for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Introduced in 1984, the objective is to shoot moving targets (flying ducks) on the television screen in mid-flight. The player receives points upon shooting each duck. If the player shoots the required number of flying ducks in a single round, the player will advance to the next round; otherwise, the player will receive a game over.

Duck Hunt has three different game modes to choose from. In "Game A" one duck at a time appears in a woodland area, and in "Game B" two ducks appear at the same time. In "Game C" the targets are clay pigeons that are launched away from the player's perspective into the distance. The gameplay starts at Round 1 and may continue up to Round 99.

A very popular arcade version launched about the same time, and many other game systems have created similar games of their own. Duck Hunt is ranked 24th in GamesRadar’s "The best NES games of all time."

THE CACHE IS NOT LOCATED AT THE POSTED COORDINATES, and involves a .24 mile walk each way from the first stage to the final along the Riverfront Parkway Trail. See below for directions. This is one of 66 caches placed for the 2022 West Bend $1,000 Cache Ba$h, with this year’s theme being FUN AND GAMES, with this cache highlighting the card game of BRIDGE. You’re looking for an ammo box-sized cache, crossing three BRIDGES and the Milwaukee River. Bushwhacking not needed.

This is also a letterbox hybrid cache. Letterboxing is another outdoor activity in which people follow clues or a story (rather than just coordinates) to find a container and then put their personal stamp in the logbook and then stamp their own journal with the stamp from the cache.

A letterbox hybrid, like this one, is both a geocache and a letterbox. It can include both coordinates AND clues to get you to the final location. Follow the instructions in the following paragraphs to be directed to the actual cache location. Contents include a stamp (do not take) for letterboxing, as well as a log book and swag for geocachers and letterboxers.

PARKING

Parking is available in the southern half of Riverside Park in the parking lot at N43 25.060 W88 10.254 (recommended for this cache and another right next to the lot), or in the norteast half of the park in the small parking lot at N43 25.515 W88 09.703. There are several new caches placed along the trail. If you have two cars with a group and plan on finding all the new ones along the trail during the Cache Ba$h, you could park at car at both locations, and start from the south side of the park and work your way north.

YOUR ADVENTURE AWAITS

1. From the parking lot head north on the trail to the starting coordinates at the bridge at N43 25.913 W88 10.254. You’re on the Riverfront Parkway Trail, passing by hole #17 of the nearby disc course and as you approach the bridge and cross the Milwaukee River.

2. Immediately after crossing the bridge you’ll see the trail goes two ways - straight or sharp left. Don’t go left, as that takes you to another parking lot, passing by a cool pointy sculpture thingy along the way. Continue straight (north).

3. Go another 100 feet or so and you’ll come to a fork in the path. Decisions. The left fork is a nice paved trail; the right fork is a gravel trail, both of which are named the Riverfront Parkway Trail! You’ll need to go RIGHT and take the gravel trail. But wait – there is a West Bend geotour cache to the left, and it’s only 125 feet away! (GC53C8Q - WBGT 05: Sculpture Walk) It’s in bushes, behind the bench, at the base of a sign post. If you haven’t found that one yet, go get it! We’ll wait… but afterward remember to take the gravel trail heading N/NE.

4. Continue on the trail to bridge #2. And guess what – it crosses the Milwaukee River. Didn’t you just do that?

5. After bridge #2, continue along the trail and you’ll see a rather unusual looking T-shaped sculpture thingy. PHOTO OP TIME! After that, continue on to bridge #3, which is 465 feet past bridge #2. You can’t miss it! And it crosses the Milwaukee River. Again.

6. Okay, almost done. After crossing bridge #3, go another 71 feet northwest right on the trail and stop. Look to your left (west) and you’ll see a really cool tree just several feet off the path. No climbing necessary. That’s where you’ll find what you’re looking for. You’re done!

7. Now the big question – do you keep going on the trail N/NW for the other three new caches, or head back to the car and relocate it to the NE parking lot to grab the other three? Inquiring minds want to know!

BRIDGE, THE GAME

Bridge is a trick-taking card game, considered by many to be the greatest card game of all, and it can provide immense challenge and enjoyment for life. It is played by four players in two competing partnerships, with partners sitting opposite each other around a table. Millions of people play bridge worldwide in clubs, tournaments, online, or with friends at home, making it one of the world's most popular card games. We were going to explain how to play it, but you’ve already read enough!

Lego pieces consist of variously colored interlocking plastic bricks that can be assembled and connected in many ways to construct objects, including vehicles, buildings, and even working robots. Anything constructed can be taken apart again, and the pieces reused to make new things. Additional accessories are available to create themed sets, including additional Lego blocks, minifigurine Lego characters, and special shapes. When the last of the original Lego patents expired in 1978, it provided opportunities for many other manufacturers to make similar toy construction blocks, such as Mega Bloks, Tyco, Duplo, and many others.

It uses a planchette (small heart-shaped piece of wood or plastic) as a movable indicator to spell out messages during a séance. Participants place their fingers on the planchette, and it is moved about the board to spell out words.

One of the first mentions of the automatic writing method used in the ouija board is found in China around 1100 AD, in historical documents of the Song Dynasty. The method was known as fuji "planchette writing". The use of planchette writing as an ostensible means of necromancy and communion with the spirit-world continued, and, albeit under special rituals and supervisions, was a central practice of the Quanzhen School, until it was forbidden by the Qing Dynasty.

Businessman Elijah Bond had the idea to patent a planchette sold with a board on which the alphabet was printed, much like the previously existing talking boards. Bond filed on 28 May 1890 for patent protection and thus is credited with the invention of the Ouija board. Issue date on the patent was 10 February 1891. He received U.S. Patent 446,054. Bond was an attorney and was an inventor of other objects in addition to this device.

An employee of Elijah Bond, William Fuld, took over the talking board production. In 1901, Fuld started production of his own boards under the name "Ouija". Charles Kennard, founder of Kennard Novelty Company which manufactured Fuld's talking boards and where Fuld had worked as a varnisher, claimed he learned the name "Ouija" from using the board and that it was an ancient Egyptian word meaning "good luck". When Fuld took over production of the boards, he popularized the more widely accepted etymology: that the name came from a combination of the French and German words for "yes".

The Fuld name became synonymous with the Ouija board, as Fuld reinvented its history, claiming that he himself had invented it. The strange talk about the boards from Fuld's competitors flooded the market, and all these boards enjoyed a heyday from the 1920s.

Norman Rockwell painted a cover, on the May 1, 1920 issue of The Saturday Evening Post, showing a Ouija board in use.

Begin at the starting coordinates and search for clues that tell you if you're hotter or colder based on its distance from the final cache. Clues within certain distance ranges will have different ranges of the heat index. The final cache will be within 150 feet of the starting coords...so you could just get lucky if you use the clues wisely. Good luck!

Jenga is a game played by many and suitable for ages 6 and up. It is played with 54 blocks. The blocks are set up in a rectangular tower (3 blocks per layer). The blocks within each layer are set in the same orientation and are perpendicular to the blocks in the layer directly below. Once the tower is complete, the first player removes one block using only one hand to do so (may switch hands if desired). Once a block has been removed, the player sets it on top of the tower, perpendicular to the blocks in the layer below. Play rotates clockwise. When a new layer has three blocks, it is complete and the next player begins a new layer.

As blocks are removed and restacked, the tower will become more and more unstable. The game ends when any portion of the tower collapses, caused by the removal of a block or its new placement ontop of the tower. The previous player is declared the winner!

Go Fish - if you are a parent; a grandparent; an aunt or uncle - chances are you have played Go Fish! It is generally played with 2-5 players, but can be played with up to 10 players. The age range is 4-10 years old. While there are special "Go Fish" cards, this game can actually be played with a deck of cards. Five cards are dealt to each player and the remaining cards are shuffled in a pool in the center. The first player begins by asking the player directly to the left if they have any cards of a particular value. The player asking must have at least one of the card asked for in hand. The player who is being asked must hand over all cards of that value to the person asking. If the person asking has none, they reply "Go Fish" and the player asking picks one card from the center pile and places it in their hand. Then the next player goes, UNLESS, the person picked a card from the pile that is of the value asked for. If this happens, the player shows it to the other players and takes another turn. Play continues to the left.

Once a player has all four cards of the same value, they place those cards face down in front of them to form a "book". Play continues until all cards have been laid down in books. The player with the most books wins!

Dominoes is a tile based game and each domino is rectangular shaped, with a line dividing its face into two square ends. Each end is marked with a number of spots (also known as pips) or is blank. The traditional domino set consists of 28 tiles known as pieces, bones or just dominoes. The tiles features all combinations of numbers between zero and six.

The line of play is the configuration of played tiles on the table. It starts with a single tile and typically grows in two opposite directions when players add matching tiles. In practice, players often play tiles at right angles when the line of play gets too close to the edge of the table.

The rules for the line of play often differ from one variant to another. In many rules, the doubles serve as spinners, i.e., they can be played on all four sides, causing the line of play to branch. Sometimes, the first tile is required to be a double, which serves as the only spinner.

Scoring happens at the end of the game. After a player has emptied their hand, thereby winning the game for the team, the score consists of the total pip count of the losing team's hands. In some rules, the pip count of the remaining stock is added. If a game is blocked because no player can move, the winner is often determined by adding the pips in players' hands.

Clue is a murder mystery game for three to six players (depending on editions) that was devised in 1943 by British board game designer Anthony E. Pratt. The game was first manufactured by Waddingtons in the United Kingdom in 1949. Since then, it has been relaunched and updated several times, and it is currently owned and published by the American game and toy company Hasbro.

The object of the game is to determine who murdered the game's victim, where the crime took place, and which weapon was used. Each player assumes the role of one of the six suspects and attempts to deduce the correct answer by strategically moving around a game board representing the rooms of a mansion and collecting clues about the circumstances of the murder from the other players.

Hangman - The word to guess is represented by a row of dashes representing each letter of the word. Rules may permit or forbid proper nouns, such as names, places, brands, or slang. If the guessing player suggests a letter which occurs in the word, the other player writes it in all its correct positions. If the suggested letter does not occur in the word, the other player draws one element of a hanged stick figure as a tally mark.

The player guessing the word may, at any time, attempt to guess the whole word. If the word is correct, the game is over and the guesser wins. Otherwise, the other player may choose to penalize the guesser by adding an element to the diagram. On the other hand, if the guesser makes enough incorrect guesses to allow the other player to complete the diagram, the guesser loses. However, the guesser can also win by guessing all the letters that appear in the word, thereby completing the word, before the diagram is completed

The board is marked with "premium" squares, which multiply the number of points awarded: eight dark red "triple-word" squares, 17 pale red "double-word" squares, of which one, the center square (H8), is marked with a star or other symbol, 12 dark blue "triple-letter" squares, and 24 pale blue "double-letter" squares. In 2008, Hasbro changed the colors of the premium squares to orange for TW, red for DW, blue for DL, and green for TL, but the original premium square color scheme is still preferred for Scrabble boards used in tournaments.

In an English-language set, the game contains 100 tiles, 98 of which are marked with a letter and a point value ranging from 1 to 10. The number of points for each lettered tile is based on the letter's frequency in standard English. Commonly used letters such as vowels are worth one point, while less common letters score higher, with Q and Z each worth 10 points. The game also has two blank tiles that are unmarked and carry no point value. The blank tiles can be used as substitutes for any letter; once laid on the board, however, the choice is fixed. When as many tiles as possible, any player with tiles remaining deducts the point value of tiles from their score. High score wins!

Final is located at N 43 XX.XXX and W 088 XX.XXX

In fact, it has been used in a general sense for hills with so many different origins that the world has little specific meaning in itself. Associating it with the word "moulin", however, narrows its meaning. Moulins are vertical shafts through the glacier that often extend all the way back to the bed. They only occur where the ice is relatively thin and where the glacier is at the melting point, so water can coexist with ice. Where debris is present, it spills with meltwater down the moulin to the bottom. Most likely, the moulin filled with sediment to the present height of the kame, while the kame was still surrounded by ice.

Moulin Kame is derived from the French word for "mill" and the Scot word for "comb". Kames are similar in many ways to eskers. Like eskers, they consist largely of gravel and sand, but they are conical or irregularly shaped hills, rather than long ridges.

Eskers are long, winding ridges of stream sediment deposited in tunnels beneath the ice. They form in warm glaciers where flowing water can melt upward into the ice instead of downward into the bed as tunnel-channel rivers do. They often disappear when the ice melts away. Under some coniditions, however, the stream flowing through the tunnel fills the tunnel with sand and gravel. When the surrounding ice melts away, it leaves a long, sinuous ridge called an esker. Eskers range from a few feet to over 150 feet hight, from hundreds of feet to many miles long and up to as much as a half-mile wide. They have steep sides (a little over 30 degrees) caused by collapse.

Eskers are distributed throughout much of the glaciated area, but seem to be most abundant in areas where the glacier was slow moving or stagnant and where there was a supply of debris at or near the base of the glacier. Eskers are generally composed of fairly coarse sand and gravel. Often the gravel contains far-traveled erratics. People mine eskers for sand and gravel and in Wisconsin, many have been mined away entirely. Eskers are fairly common in the Kettle Moraine.

Pachisi (/pəˈtʃiːzi/, Hindustani: [pəˈtʃiːsiː]) is a cross and circle board game that originated in Ancient India. It is described in the ancient text Mahabharata under the name of "Pasha". It is played on a board shaped like a symmetrical cross. A player's pieces move around the board based upon a throw of six or seven cowrie shells, with the number of shells resting with aperture upward indicating the number of spaces to move.

The name of the game is derived from the Hindi word paccīs, meaning "twenty-five", the largest score that can be thrown with the cowrie shells; thus this game is also known by the name Twenty-Five. There are other versions of this game where the largest score that can be thrown is thirty.

In addition to chaupar, there are many versions of the game. Barjis [ar] (barsis) is popular in the Levant, mainly Syria, while Parchís is another version popular in Spain and northern Morocco. Parqués is its Colombian variant. Parcheesi, Sorry!, and Ludo are among the many Westernized commercial versions of the game. The Jeu des petits chevaux (Game of Little Horses) is played in France, and Mensch ärgere Dich nicht is a popular German variant. It is also possible that this game led to the development of the Korean board game Yunnori, through the ancient kingdom Baekje.

Barrel of Monkeys is a toy game released by Lakeside Toys in 1965. It was created by Leonard Marks and Milton Dinhofer in 1961, and in 1964, Herman Kesler partnered to sell it to Lakeside Toys. Lakeside Toys released it in 1965 and today it is produced by the Milton Bradley Company within the Hasbro corporation. Milton Bradley's editions consist of a toy barrel in either blue, yellow, red, purple, orange, gray or green. The barrel contains 12 monkeys but can hold 24, their color usually corresponding to the barrel's color. The instructions state, "Dump monkeys onto table. Pick up one monkey by an arm. Hook other arm through a second monkey's arm. Continue making a chain. Your turn is over when a monkey is dropped."

Frogger is a 1981 arcade action game developed by Konami and manufactured by Sega. The object of the game is to direct frogs to their homes one by one by crossing a busy road and navigating a river full of hazards.

The frog starts at the bottom of the screen, which contains a horizontal road occupied by cars, trucks, and bulldozers speeding along it. The player must guide the frog between opposing lanes of traffic to avoid becoming roadkill, which results in a loss of a life. After the road, there is a median strip separating the two major parts of the screen. The upper portion of the screen consists of a river with logs, alligators, and turtles, all moving horizontally across the screen. By jumping on swiftly moving logs and the backs of turtles and alligators, the player can guide their frog to safety. The player must avoid snakes, otters, and the open mouths of alligators. A brightly colored female frog is sometimes on a log and may be carried for bonus points. The top of the screen contains five "frog homes", which are the destinations for each frog. These sometimes contain insects (good) or lurking alligators (bad). Losing all your frogs ends the game.

It can be adapted for three or four players.

The dealer shuffles and deals five or six cards to each player, depending on the number of players. For two players, each is dealt six cards; for three or four players, each is dealt five cards. In the case of three players, a single card is dealt face down in the centre of the table to start the crib. Once the cards have been dealt, each player chooses four cards to retain, then discards the other one or two face-down to form the "crib" (also called the box), which will be used later by the dealer

Once the play is complete, each player in turn, starting with the player on the left of the dealer, displays their own hand on the table and scores points based on its content in conjunction with the starter card. Points are scored for:

Combinations of any number of cards totalling fifteen

Runs

Pairs (Multiple pairs are scored pair by pair but may be referred to as three or four of a kind.)

Flush (A four-card flush scores four and cannot include the starter card; a five-card flush scores five.)

Having a jack of the same suit as the starter card ("one for his nob [or nobs or nibs]", sometimes called the "right" jack)

The dealer scores their hand last and then turns the cards in the crib face up. These cards are then scored by the dealer as an additional hand, also in conjunction with the starter card. Unlike the dealer's own hand, the crib cannot score a four-card flush, but it can score a five-card flush with the starter.
